About this tool
Every connection on the internet carries a source address, and the server you talk to sees it. That is how this page knows your public IP without asking: it simply reads the address your request came from. The hostname is the reverse DNS name your provider assigned to that address, such as dsl-XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX-dynamic.prod-infinitum.com.mx.
The lower table lists the HTTP request headers your browser sent. They reveal your language preferences, the kind of content you accept and, if a transparent proxy is in the path, headers such as Via or X-Forwarded-For that give the proxy away. Use the Proxy Test tool for a dedicated check of those headers.
What this tool gives you
Location and ISP
One click opens the full IP Address Lookup for your address: country, city, ISP and ASN.
Privacy flags
The IP lookup also tells you whether your address is recognised as a VPN, proxy or Tor exit.
Request headers
The exact headers your browser sent, useful for debugging proxies and privacy extensions.
Frequently asked questions
Is this my real IP address?
It is the public address your traffic arrives from. Behind a home router that is the router address; behind a VPN it is the VPN exit, not your own line.
Why does my location look wrong?
IP geolocation locates the network, not you. Mobile carriers and VPNs route traffic through distant gateways, so a city hundreds of kilometres away is normal.
Why do I see an IPv6 address?
Your provider gives you IPv6 and this site supports it, so the browser preferred it. Visit through an IPv4-only network to see your IPv4 address.
Do you store this information?
No. The page is generated on the fly from your request and nothing is written to a database. Only standard web server access logs apply.
How do I hide my IP address?
Use a reputable VPN or the Tor Browser. Both replace your address with theirs; this page will then show the exit node and flag it as such.
