Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the URL checker?
The URL checker reports status codes. The Redirections Fetcher is built around the Location header and aggregates the unique destinations for further analysis.
Why are redirects not followed?
The goal is to see the first hop. Following chains would hide the intermediary domains that spam operations use to rotate landing pages.
What counts as an external redirect?
A destination whose registrable domain differs from the source. A jump from www.example.com to example.com is same-site; one to example.net is external.
Are the URLs visited from my IP?
No. Requests are performed by our servers or by the APIVoid URL Status API, so the targets never see your address or browser.
